I'm in the market for a new PC this summer and the last two computers I have built myself. This time around I'd like to add liquid cooling to my setup and I'm just too much of a wuss to do that myself.
![]() I have been looking around a lot and I'm very satisfied so far with DigitalStorm's systems, especially the custom build section. My only issue is that I want my system built in a certain case, which actually happens to be a Mod of the CM Cosmos: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/6683/cst-640/Cooler_Master_COSMOS_1000_Full_Tower_Chassis_w_Custom_Bolt-On_Full_Window_RC-1000-KSN1-GP.html Sorry for the long link. Anyways, this is a mod of the Cosmos that has a very nice window added on the side panel. My question to you guys: Do you allow customers to ship you a certain case (assuming it is the right size for the parts ordered) in which the system can be built in? Thanks, John! |

Yes, they do allow you to ask for another case than what is listed in the configurations. Give them a call and they will fill you in on the details.

Cool thanks. I'm assuming they would also allow me to run the liquid cooling to just 1 GPU instead of 2 (what you see in the drop-down menu). I'll prolly get just 1 9800GX2 because right now 2 GX2's is overkill imo, but I would still like to have it liquid cooled. Unless the masses think thats not necessary. |

yea dso will pretty much install/include anything computer related, but i believe if it is not on their config page you are req to buy it and ship it to them (i know thats true with specific fans at least)
btw thats an extremely sweet case, but why the interest in liq cooling?

I've been interested in liquid cooling since I built my last system a couple years ago. The case I have it running in is a Thermaltake Xaser III, which has 7 stock fans, and even with good cable management my overclocking has been limited.
With the new system I'm either buying or building, I have my mind set on the liquid cooling... its just a matter of whether or not I'm willing to do it myself. Building your own computer will always be cheaper, but DS seems like a damn good company and I'm willing to throw in a few extra $ for the quality they are tossing out into mainstream gaming PCs. I do indeed love that case. I've had my heart set on it for a long time and the only reason I was hesitating was there was no side window, until now. That case mod is extremely sweet and I believe FrozenCPU does a great job with that window. Another point I wanted to throw out there Is I will also probably wait till Nvidia realeases the GT200 series in July before I build. It sucks that the 9800's will have a short shelf life, but hopefully the specs on the 9990GTX will blow everything away. |

Just curious, why do you want that case vs the Cosmos S? I assume its more you want the window and soundproofing more? Plus IMHO the Cosmos is actually slightly better build quality then the S. I selected the S mostly because i wanted a large fan blowing on the GPU(s)

ill never understand why someone would choose a large piece of plate glass or ever plastic over an open air case, to me, it seems like you are just dropping your computer into a thermos. unless you are in a professional atmosphere, where it would be a nightmare to have everyone rocking windtunnels, open air case designs are just plain smarter.
devils advocate to my own idea, though, is that if you have the cash for liquid and the noise of air bothers you, its by no means a waste of coin, even if it may be overkill
