Im putting together a high end $6500+ Aventum build. I know most of the hardware I want but im stuck on 2 specs:
1. Fans. Ill be hydrolux water cooling and OC’ing a 10900K and RTX 3080, but im unsure if I should upgrade the fans. Are DS’s fans good quality and rated for radiator and case use or should I upgrade to thermaltake or corsair fans? I dont care about noise or RGB, I just dont want to install crappy fans on a $6500+ gaming rig if it’ll limit performance. System will run 24/7 for gaming, cybersecurity training (multiple VM’s), torrenting, photo editing, video encoding, and hosting a Plex media server. 2. Water cooling RTX 3080. Ill be using nvidea’s auto overclocking/boost on the 3080 because ive heard they have crashing issues when OC’d too high, so is it worth adding an rtx 3080 to the water cooling loop (aventum case) in terms of gpu performance? Im maxing out my budget if I upgrade the fans, so if DS’s fans are good on the aventum x case then I’d rather stick with the stock fans and put the money into a larger m.2 drive. Again, I dint care about fan noise or RGB lighting, only performance and longevity. Current Build specs: Aventum case MSI Godlike MOBO I9 10900K w “stage 2” OC 1200W psu 32 GB corsair platinum ram 500GB Firecuda m.2 drive (OS/programs) 2TB Firecuda m.2 drive (games) 2TB samsung 860evo sata ssd (pics, video, VM’s, other storage) 8TB NAS HDD (backup and Plex media server storage) DS’s custom hydrolux water cooling loop for CPU and (possibly) GPU 14x stock DS fans for case and radiators. Thank you in advance for any advice! |

One of the main reasons to get the Aventum is because of its massive liquid cooling ability. To have hardware that otherwise could be lc'd off the loop would not be the most efficient use of the that case and you could save a lot of money by going smaller. Once under liquid you can oc the cpu and gpu as much as you want. As to fans, I have no idea what fans DS uses in house. Personally if you are going to keep it running 24/7 I would go with branded fans.
