Good day all, I'm looking at purchasing a second hardrive for my DS. I read an article about IDE and SATA hardrives indicating of course that SATA hardrives are easier to configure with your system. I also understand there is no need to put the operating system software on the second drive if being used for storage only. Can anyone give me any extra steps I should be aware of when installing a second hardrive or good advice as to not mess something up?

Also, is there any good reason to place them in a RAID configuration?

Signed,

For a storage drive, just screw it in, hook up the power, and SATA cable, have to format it, and you will be good to go.
RAID not really an option here, you would have to either erase your current drive, or add two drives.

Cool, thanks. I was just looking at the Black Ops Extreme Package. Wish I had waited til this year to purchase my DS. For the same cost, I could have had a step up in processor and GPU.Big%20smile

thats the way the cycle goes and in 2012 there will be another cpu. the industry is costantly cranking out new stuff at a fast pace so it is impossible to actually keep up. god i remember when the tech didn't coem out so fast lol it was easier then.

here is the bottom line you buy a computer then a few months later something new comes out...
2.5 Ghz Core duo
Nvidia 9500 gt
3 gb 1033 Mhz ram
