I have a question about the EVGA FTW3 motherboard that available.
Does the Dual SLI support 16x by 16x dual SLI or is it 16x/8x?
I'm contemplating getting that for my rig instead of the EVGA X58 Classified

If the top 2 are populated they'll both be @ X16 if all three slots are populated it'll be X16 X8 X8.
If you populated the 1st and the 3rd slot it would be X16 & X8. So yes it does support dual X16. EDIT: as a side note, from reading what people are saying and discussing on the EVGA forums it doesn't look like all that much is different from the regular 3X SLI and this new FTW besides the new sata and usb. http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=383535. Well it looks like it will have a passive northbridge cooling though. Also, question for Alex. Is that VRM heatsink low profile enough to allow for the NH-14D Noctua? I can't tell really but it does look slightly different. Edited by AndydViking - 30 May 2010 at 10:36am |
