... and other random thoughts...

I was reading a post by DST4ME (of course) in which he discusses getting an internal hard drive and putting it into a hard drive case for an external hard drive... omg brilliant!!! I had no idea you could do that (and since DST4ME was the first person I saw/heard mention it, he gets the credit!)

so my question is...  in the future (like for my birthday), could I get one of those fast hard drives like the velociraptor... put it in a case... and load my games into that?... no need for an OS on it since the OS is on the hard drive in my computer?  Just plug and play?

My mind is totally boggled... wish I had more time, I think I'd go back to school and take computer classes... unfortunately my 18 year old daughter isn't interested in dating computer gurus... to my everlasting shame and sorrow  :P

On that note, is there some website that is a computer 101 place where I can start learning?

Thanks in advance

Kim

That being said, that drive with the game will only launch on the computer that it was originally installed on...

Therefor, why not just install the drive into the case..Its cheaper...

ok... so I could install a velociraptor as a second hard drive for games and graphic programs (photoshop) and have my WD as the OS drive?

My computer (when it gets here) will have the HAF case... how easy would it be for the computer clueless to add a hard drive and is there any programing that would need to be done?

external drive is for backing up OS, otherwise you don't need an external, you HAF holds 5 HDDs, as HM mentioned its really easy to install.

however I don't believe that the vid cards have anything to do with HDDs in the HAF since they come out side ways, so no messing with the vidcards should be needed.
