OK just thought about this when I was reading another post. I selected the fan upgrade to the Corsair Airflow Performance Edition (Up to 6 Fans), will they install all 6 fans in the case or send the extra ones if they don't use them?

I ordered the Corsair Obsidian 550D case and it has a spot for 2 fans on the side panel but I don't think the fans are included in the stock fan configuration. Just thought it might help pull the heat out of the case near the graphics card.

I believe DS only replaces existing fans with a particular build if possible and doesn't add fans to optional locations.   They don't send unused fans last I heard. So with 550d they might replace the front 2 and rear fan.   Cooler fan I'm not sure.

The Slade 550d is popular for its quietness because of the top and side acoustic panels and adding fans there defeats that purpose.

If stress testing shows the need which isn't common with new cards, etc. they'll add fans.    

DS would need to answer this as each build is different.

When I was asking about the fans for the Corsair Air 540 and going the optional x3 120mm vs x2 140mm I was told that you would need to buy the optional fan package and their policy is that you don't get the extra fans if you don't use all 6.

Okay thanks. I know the top panel will house the 240mm radiator so i am guessing that the front 2 fans and the rear fan will be upgraded.
