Topic: Question about Lumos, 2080 Super and new 3000GPU'sPosted: 07 Sep 2020 at 2:48am |

I recently purchased the custom Lumos build like 2 weeks ago, and didn't know that Nvidia would be releasing new graphics cards soon. I added the RTX 2080 Super because I want to be able to play most of my games max settings at 1440p. Now I recently checked the DigitalStorm custom deskstops and it seems there is no longer an option to select the 2080 Super and can only pick GeForce RTX - Upcoming Next-Gen Premium (10 GB). I'm currently in Stage 3 of build process and if I wanted to add more RGB lighting to my build can I do that? (im thinking i want to add RGB 32gb Ram and the CORSAIR RGB fans) Does DigitalStorm already have the new gpu's in stock and are building new computers with them? If so, can I get a discount on the 2080 Super or at least switch to new 3000 series? Or would anyone here actually recommend staying put with the RTX 2080 Super for my 1440p gaming needs? What do you guys think?

The 2080 SUPER will do exactly what you bought it for for several years. The only 3000 available at present appears to be the 3080 releasing on Sep 17. It is not in stock just yet. The 3070 will not be released until some day in October, so is not being offered.
You can order the upgrades still, but don't delay. You should discuss your options with DS as to video cards, we don't have enough info here. The 3080 is way overpowered for 1440p. The 3070 is stronger than a 2080 Ti and will likely delay your order. Doesn't hurt to ask.
Correction: the RTX 3090 has just made it's debut on the Configurator. That's the 24GB model at $2k plus. Edited by Cretae - 07 Sep 2020 at 4:29am |

Your RTX 2080 Super will be more than fine for 1440P.
I have a 9-month old Lumos with an i7-9700k and an RTX 2070 Super connected to an Alienware 34" 1440P monitor. I play Digital Combat Simulator (flight sim) on max settings with no issues with that setup. |

I would try and get the 3000 series if it’s not too late. That’s just my personal opinion. Might aswell get that new new if you’re getting a new rig
