Do you think there is plenty of power headroom left on the model 4 Vanquish to add a Creative Sound Blaster Z? I don't know what the power requirements are of sound cards, and couldn't find the information on the Creative website.
Should be fine, right? |

I don't know the power draw, but sound cards use very little. A wild guess would be 10-20 watts for a higher end card. You should have no problem adding it.

What bp22 said sounds about right... You shouldn't have any issues adding a sound card to the L4 Vanquish II....

Outstanding. That's what I figured (evidenced by the fact that I purchased the card online before even posting this; I live dangerously), but I wanted to confirm how much headroom there was since that 770 was drawing off a 600w power source.
Thanks so much. :D |

You're welcome.
The 770 probably draws 200watts real world but can go a little higher and the rest of your rig about 150 or so. Anything under the stable 80% psu load, 480 watts, is perfect. Have fun. |
