I have a quick question to DS about prices on certain parts.
For example, your 4870'x are running roughly $575 (and they aren't OC versions) when you can get them for around $520. Also, the Xonar D2X is $210 when it retails for $170. Those 2 stood out the most to me. I'm just curious why they are so expensive. |

Gotta make money somewhere im assuming. Think of it this way. Go ahead and buy the Xonar, or the 4870 for retail price, but you sacrifice that DS has your back on that product for 3 or more years . depending on the warranty. get what i'm sayin ?

I think the 3 year warranty is only with the system if you order a part I think you pay extra to choose one year warranty, not very clear about it tho, waiting to have Alex clarify

The configarator prices are higher because they include installation, testing, and a 3 year warranty.

Yeah I understand that, but some other items have no premium on them. I'm not complaining my any means, I was just curious if there was a specific reason other than the obvious service.

some have room in them to be within price limit and some don't have room and will cost extra for the warranty/service.

Yeah it's true. DS is so much better than Dell, Alienware, FNW and all the other "boutique" companies when it comes to price, performance and service (not to mention warranty). I expect in time, DS will even offer the ultra-high-end paint jobs that many of it's competitiors offer.
I look forward to buying my rig next week and supporting them. |

DST4Me is correct. It all depends on the price we paid for the hardware, testing, installation, technical support, risk of failure down the road, etc are all factors we look at before a price is set on a certain item.
Warm Regards,
Alex
