After using and loving my DSO system for a while, i realized that my 120gb ssd is brimming full and that i need more space. after doing some reading, ive reached some ideas about what i would like to do. right now im thinking at least one 1Tb WD drive with a 64mb cache, but am considering doing a RAID, ether a RAID 5 (3 drives, 2TB usable space) or 10 (4 drives, 2TB usable space). I currently have 4 usable drive bays in my case and a Asus Maximus iv extreme, which acording to the manual has the ability to do RAID. ive read somethings about how having a dedicated controller card may be better but the articles were dated. what would give me the best performance (besides ssds)? if and when i do add the new drive(s) what programs(besides windows) would it make the most sense to leave on the ssd?

Thanks!

os/apps/games on ssd, you can raid 20 hdds, you still wont' get 4k speeds or seektime speeds of a ssd, just to mention a couple.

instead of all that why not just add another ssd as hdd3 and just continue to install apps/games there.

lets say you got a 120GB 320 ssd as hdd1 and you have a 1TB hdd as hdd2.

now get another ssd, add it as hdd3, this is not raid or anything, its just an independent third drive which is ssd.

I believe they are the same you can also go with c300 or m4 if you like, but the 320 has the best record so far.
