In the description it says:

Dominator Platinum high-performance DDR4 memory is designed for world-class Intel X99 system builds. It's built with hand-screened ICs and incorporates patented DHX cooling for reliable performance in demanding environments. And, extracting maximum performance is easy -- built-in XMP 2.0 support gives you trouble-free, automatic overclocking.

So does that mean, that the XMP will not kick in and ram will not be overclocked if i went with the z170 Gaming motherboard? meaning might as well get the digital storm certified series?

thanks!

XMP is not why you get corsair ram, but all ram is almost the same, I like to know what I'm getting.

XMP is settings in the bios you can disable it or use it now sure what it has to do with going z170.

thanks for answering my constant questions DST4ME!

sorry, and appreciate it

i was perusing the forum and i read about one person say he always look for RAM with XMP and i tried to look at what it is and i thought it's how it lets you overclock the RAM automatically.

and looking at the corsair description, it seems to imply this feature only works on the X59 mobo, further implying it will not autooverclock on the Z170.

hence my question haha....

Your mobo support xmp now. I think you made a mistake of thinking it was available in x58 only, when if I'm not mistaken that is when it came out, so back then you would have been told "its only supported in x58"

Extreme Memory Profile(XMP)

Why do you keep saying sorry? we are here to help so ask away and there is nothing to apologize for.
