Question on HDD choices

   As mentioned in another thread I will be in the market for my 2nd DS computer in a few months.  My question relates to the HDD setup I should be going with.  My last computer I went with 2x 250gb drives in RAID 0.  I actually think RAID 0 is a pain in the ass as I have had issues with my RAID drivers and stuff and it just seems like more of a hassle than a single drive setup or non-raided setup.
On a lot of people's configs I see them choosing a SSD for the OS and then another bigger drive for storage.  Well, what drive do you install your games to then?  The SSD with the OS or the storage drive?  I assume the faster driver would make the most sense, but that drive is much smaller.
  The ONLY thing I do on my computer is play games, so that's why I have always gone the RAID 0 route so I can get everything on a quicker drive.  If I go the SSD/bigger HD route the SSD won't be big enough to hold my OS and all of my games.  The only thing I really "store" on my computer is music, and I usually never have more than 5-10gb of it at once.  On my 2x 250gb setup right now I have barely 1/5 of the space left as I usually have a ton of games installed at once.  I guess this can be remedied by only having what I play installed, but usually when I finish a game I will keep it as well as my save files in case I want to re-visit the game at a later date.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do or what would be the best in my case?

	OK well nomec the reason I didn't config a system for you in the other thread is that since you are a few months away from ordering, around here it might as well be years, things change so quick that whatever we discuss now is pointless. I'm saying this because I'm not sure what size/speed/price SSDs will be available when you are ready to order. now the way you want to do it is HDD1 = fast drive for OS/apps/games, and HDD2 for storage. now if a 500GB SSD is available you can use that as HDD1 however the cost is gonna be high, since you want so much room you are looking at around $800 for the HDD anyways. now you can say get a 250GB for HDD1 for OS/games/apps, and if that is not enough then you get a second 250GB HDD as HDD2, so that they are not in raid, all you do is just when you get close to 60% just direct the games install to HDD2. This however means that if one of the drives goes bad you will lose games on both drives, its not raid but the registry info is always stored on the OS drive. also like to point out that with SSDs, you don't want to go pass 50% capacity as it starts to mess around with the performance of the SSD.

	What I might do is just RAID two 300gb raptors then. Or just raid 2x 500gb drives and be done with it. I just don't think one drive for my OS/games will be big enough unless it's at least 500gb. That's why RAID'ing has alwayas been good for me so I can just get it all on one "drive."
