I have never actually upgraded an operating system myself.  So I was wondering if anyone could explain how the process works.  I'm specifically interested in how the the process will work with the free upgrade coupon that is coming with my new DS computer.

You will receive a document with your Windows 7 key on it. It will have instructions on how to obtain a copy of Windows 7 once it is released.
 
Afterwards, you may simply upgrade or do a fresh installation once it arrives.

Upgrading Vista to 7 is easy.  Put in the disc, click upgrade, it does the rest.

For a clean install it will require a little more work, such as you backing up all of your files before installing.
