So, i'm loving my DigitalStorm computer, it's everything I dreamed. However, I have a quick tech question about something I'm not entirely sure of on it.

So, I made sure to upgrade my rig to have a Bluray player to watch some movies on. However, the computer doesn't seem to have any sort of media player to actually play the Blurays... Did the drive itself come with a media player so that I can watch movies? Or is there a recommended third-party player that I could use?

As it stands right now, it's just a logo on drive and doesn't really do me much good lol.

Microsoft would have to pay royalties to include a codec in Windows to play BluRay which they will not do.
I can not help on software because I no longer watch movies on my PC and personally do not have any experience with any current software that does play BluRay.

I figured the player would come packaged with the hardware itself. I may have to check to see if I got the disc with the binder I got.

Hi Grim.... You won't have a disc included.    For the reason JerryW stated, you have to purchase your own blu ray movie playback software, like Power DVD, WinDVD, etc.   I also can't recommend any in particular.
If you go to config screen and hit 'more info' under the player it does warn of this.   It is easy to miss.

http://www.digiarty.com/ has some free bluray software - VLC might also do it.

Thanks, I took care of it and got ArcSoft theatre. Seemed to do the trick. Things are always a little more confusing after a couple drinks at the end of a work week. lol

I've been known to have a drink or two after work.

Whatever it takes.
