seperate piece you need to get when you buy the other card. They aren't too expensive.

Every SLI compatible motherboard comes with the SLI bridge. The SLI bridge is not included with any video card.

I don't believe DS includes any bridges also retail they mobo comes with sli bridge, I'm not sure if the ones DS buys come with sli bridge, you need to ask them for that at the time of your order or buy it separately.
but ya if you buying a mobo off the shelf or retail, then it comes with sli bridge. |

I checked the spare part's box that came with my DS computer, and the only thing it has in there that is close to a bridge is a multi gpu cross fire video link card.Is that the bridge?Because it does'nt say sli on it?

Ok,i think im getting in way over my head now.Last week i was looking at my digital storm packaging receipt and the mother board said crossfire/sli compatable. So thinking that my mother board is sli compatable i purchassed another nvidia gtx 275 gaming card, assuming the sli bridge came with the card.I later found out that the bridge only come's with the mother board. So i looked in my spare part's box that DS gave me,and the only thing in there was a msi-multi gpu crossfire video link card.So after wondering why i did'nt receive a sli bridge,i then looked up my msi-x58m mother board up on the internet, and found out it is not sli compatable. So now i have to return the gtx 275 that is being delivered today, and wait to be credited for it.So now my question is will my mother board support a nvidia gtx 295?

Majority of, if not all Intel X58 chipsets can do both SLI and Crossfire.
Most motherboards will be able to run multi-GPU cards such as the GTX 295 and 4870x2 regardless of chipset as that's the whole idea behind the cards. The MSI motherboard you listed does not come with a SLI bridge because their boards originally did not support SLI but the BIOS was later updated to support it. You can do SLI without a bridge as the cards will communicate through the PCI-E bus but the performance will be degraded. Your board does support SLI, you just need to update the BIOS. If you want to do SLI with a bridge, just call Digital Storm and I'm sure they'll send you a SLI bridge or you can just buy one from EVGA or Newegg. Edited by skyR - 07 Aug 2009 at 12:18pm |
