I will be most likely be placing a order on Friday, I have a few questions that concern me deeply.
1. I will get the system oc'd around how long will the life be if it die's a year down the road I won't be able to replace it 2. If any part fail's without any physical damage done to it from MY side will DS pay for it to be replaced and shipped? |

The average minimum lifetime is at least 5 years. However, the advantage of having these kinds of custom computers is that, ironically as it seems, they use standard form factor parts. Dells will not utilize standard form factors in the key components such as the PSU, case, and motherboard in order to force you to purchase a new computer when making a leap to next gen tech. However, for custom computers, instead of forking over $800 for a new computer altogether, you can spend $400 on maybe a new motherboard/cpu pair and take advantage of new tech using the rest of the components in your current comp, and possibly sell the old parts as well. Saves you some dough. What I'm trying to say is, well, that 5 yr timeframe isn't really relevant. You can use it for a year or so, definitely, and then you'll probably be wanting to upgrade to newer tech, which you easily can.
DS will not cover things you mess up yourself, only things that they are held liable for during construction such as individual parts to some extent and your overclock. Oh wait, you mean shipping damage? Ah, wait, I see what you're asking now. If it's NOT damaged from your side and the part fails, yes, DS should replace it for you. I believe they will pay for it to be replaced, shipping is debatable. |

Your CPU should certainly not die a year down the road. We have customers who have been running OC'ed CPU's for 3+ years at this point.
In regards to parts that may fail over a period time, or needing to be replaced. Our default warranty will allow you to get any part replaced for the first year. However you are responsible for all shipping costs. The only time we cover shipping is during the first 30 days that you have your computer. |

Intel's CPU's are designed to last appx. 30 years, a mild overclock, with good temps, 15-20 years. yes you can kill a CPU in one day, if that is your goal. But keep temps cool, and voltgaes in-line with Intel specs, and 10 year life should not be an issue. |
