Topic: Questions about preconfigured machinesPosted: 11 Aug 2009 at 3:49pm |

I am a new buyer but not a gamer. I like OC and pre-configured machines for my particular application better than assembling a system or buying a mass brand (like Dell).
I have been trying to talk to a live sales person at DS but I keep getting the "call volume is so high ..." message and have not heard back at all after numerous voice mails and e-mails to the sales department. So I thought I'd post my question(s) with the hope tha a member of the community or a sales person response:
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks |

1. customer svc is great, but they are very busy today, send an email to [email protected] and they will get back to you.
2. pre build system can't be modified in any way. 3. well depends what you get, for your use Blietzkreig is going to be fine, only thing is that I'm not sure what psu it has, if its a low one then you may not be able to upgrade the system in the future gpu-wise, other then that you should be fine, since its not for gaming. |

Thanks for the reply. I have been reading your posts on this forum for the last couple of week, good stuff and quite informative - much appreciated as a newbie.
I did get through in the end today and ordered the Gaming Dominator. The person on the phone was quite helpful and agreed to change the video card (a the GTX 295 to a GTX 285) for me and give me an appropriate discount which was also great. Then they processed the wrong order . I have been trying to get in touch with them ever since - and could not get through. I wonder why *today* was so busy . I am really worried about my ability to get through if I run into problems but we shall see. I got obsessed at some point I was calling them through 3 different lines trying everyone! I must have made at least 50 calls and did not get through once! In case you were wondering, the key difference in the pre-built systems is the mother board. They are currently using the EVGA Micor ATX mother board for those (I think this one - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188051). It seems pretty good, and it is about $200 less than the main stream EVGA X58.. The memory sticks are 3 x 2GB. The power supply is whatever they have at hand which happens to be PC Power & Cooling today. And last but not least - HAF 932 comes with all its fans listed int he Cooler Master web site (including the ones that are listed as optional). |
