Hey, this is a question specifically for DS reps, or anyone that's managed to purchase a DS xm15 lappy  before.

Got my desktop, happy with it, laptop's almost fried, and I'm quite sure that I'm gonna need something portable in the future. So, more money spent. This is killing my savings, but meh, haven't bought that much in the past few years anyways considering the amount of dough that's just been building up from b-days, chino new years, etc. Relatives ftw. Moving on, the laptop I was interested in is the sager np5125 based off the Clevo B5100M, since it's not as expensive as a gaming laptop, has great battery life with nVidia Optimus, and decent enough graphics with a 330M. Originally, I was gonna order from XoticPC, but now that I've found that DS might possibly offer the same model, I'm reconsidering my options, but have some unanswered questions.

First off, is the xm15 the NP5125? Specs fit, it has optimus, has regular config options.

Stream of other questions that are unanswered...
- Can I get Win 7 Pro installed on it instead of HP?
- Can I get an extra battery on it?
- What network card do you guys put into it? Specifically, I'm looking for a Intel 6300 (Ultimate-N)
- Need to get a Momentus XT 500GB hybrid drive on that thing, would you guys be able to do that?
- What's DS's dead pixel warranty...?
- Can I get a price estimate with all this loaded on? The current parts that I would like that I am already able to get on the configurator and are thus not questioning are the 1920x1080 screen, 620M i7, 6GB RAM, and BD-R Reader (combo drive, no writer).

basically, trying to match the quote I'm getting from Xotic. info would really be appreciated from a DS rep or anyone that's bought a xm15 from DS before.

I have the xm15 gaming laptop which I picked up about 3 weeks ago. I have Core i5 2.4 Ghz, 6 GB DDR3 ram, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and a 1368 x766 screen. When I made my order last month, there wasn't an option for a 1920x1080 screen. The same goes for the wireless option. There's two now: B/G/N and A/B/G/N. I only have B/G/N. My wireless drivers are for Realtek. For my laptop, on power savor, I get a little over 4 hours of basic usuage which mostly consist of Word 2007 and the internet.

The xm15 is the NP5125 as it does mention that in the chassis selection box.

We can add/do all of the special requests you are asking about. You just need to confirm pricing and everything with a DS rep such as Sarah ([email protected]).

Dead pixel warranty is the same as the industry's standard which is located in section "F" in our warranty details under 'Company' at the top. We can special order a 100% no dead pixel warranty as well if you wish.

Our laptop is going to be more expensive than Xotic. Our testing process, customer support/service etc does add to the price.

all riight, sarah just got back to me. DS ends up being $123 higher than Xotic, debating whether it's truly worth it, although I'm pretty sure I already know what the answer is...
