I am considering building an air cooled system using the NH-D14 and the ASUS P6X58D.
1.Will the D14 work in this case? 2.Would the fan upgrade help the air flow in this case? 3.Can the Touch 2000 control the fans? Thanks in advance for your help. Claude |

1. Yes
2. No need. The chassis has great stock cooling for air.
3. Yes it can but you don't really need it as the chassis has speed control switches at the top (see the gallery).
Cheers,

I would say yes because it has a more sleek style and innovative cooling style. |

2. fan upgrades are loud and will make your case louder, why not just go with a case that has better airflow stockk and is quiet. 3. it won't control your rad fans, also it does not report correct temps, its a waste of your money IMO, there are softwares for free that can give you better readings. |

Fan upgrades are normally loud if you just select it, the Zalman perf fans I got were really really unncessarilly loud. Do some research on fans, then specifically specify which fans you want to get a quiet fan upgrade, lol.

DST4ME is gonna tell you no; justin.kerr is gonna tell you yes. DS is gonna tell you yes. I don't have any empirical data, but I see 3 180mm fans at the bottom of the case pulling in cool air, and exhausting it out the top. Most effective and efficient airflow. Is it more airflow than HAF? I dk, but 3 180's gonna move a lot of air IMO. Absolutely HAVE to have clearance over top of case. That's where all the hot air goes out. And your peripherals attach at top as well, 'cause the mobo is rotated 90 degrees. Gotta go to Black OPS Assassin "Gallery" and see all this.

haf has 3 x 230mm fans, they move more air then 180mm fans, and the haf has more of a mesh around the case so air moves more freely in the haf and cases like that, vs cases like FT02

just because the HAF has larger fans, means nothing. If the air is not circulating over the critical components, it is meaningless. The HAF is an open air case, the the air takes the path of least resistance, so it escapes, no where near most critical parts..
Just because it has 3 poor quality fans, does not mean it flows one drop more air.. In fact the FT-02 flows more intake CFM than the HAF..and directs the air over the critical components...
Coolermaster has never made a good product in its life, some really poor, some super poor, some ridiculously poor, and some marginally poor.. Silverstone has made tons of great quality products.
Plastic is an insulator, does not offer any cooling properties like aluminum, or even steel for that matter... then there is the open case factor, dust, noise., then the horrible tooless crap Coolmaster makes... wholly crap, just die already crapmaster

Again just because you don't like them, don't mean they are bad cases, the big 230mm fan blowing air right over the bpu and mobo is not good enough? I can't agree with you on that.
last time I checked, 3 x 230mm fans at 1000rpm blows more air then 3 x 180mm fans at 1000rpm. sure the FT02 has mobo mounted differently and that does help, but at the end I'm willing to bet whatever you like that the temp inside a 932 is cooler then inside a FT02. I'm not saying FT02 is not a great case, it is, it has lot of nice features, but it does not have better airflow then 932, also it has plastic parts also, and installing/working with media drives and etc is not easy with the way that case is setup, specially with dual or tri cf/sli. |
