After alot of research I've decided to go with DigitalStorm.  I haven't bought a new computer in 4 years so I'm a little unsure if the configuration I've picked out is the right way to go for me. The computer will be used mostly for gaming, WoW and FPS. I have a 24" Dell lcd on the way and I want to be able to run whatever at high res and settings. I'm looking to spend around $4500 or less.

It looks great but you might suggest getting Windows Vista Premium 64-bit or downgrade to 2GB of ram.

Windows XP does not recognize 4GB of ram and can not do DX10.

Nice rig Smile I would get a much bigger hard drive for your RAID array, you'll need to install games - 2 500GB should do it. Hope you know about the RAM limit in XP and Vista (4gb max for 32 bit). Vista is getting much better with games and MS won't sell WinXP after Jan2008. Your best setup is Dual-Boot and i think DS can do it for you.

I dont mind going with just Vista but I'm concerned about what I've read about it running games slower than XP.  Have they addressed that yet or is it still in the works?

Vista is great, getting better everyday. It uses memory a lot better then XP. SP1 is currently in beta and retail should be out by early 2008.

Totally up to you I guess, rumors have it that XP SP3 is due in 2008.

IMO, no point in getting a DX10 card and 4GB of ram if you are not going to use Vista.

I do not think you need a 500GB HDD either since rarely does a gamer use more then 100GB.

Setup looks good, but, I would drop the 4GB Memory setup, and go with a high-end Quad-Core processor. Vista is getting closer to XP in performance. I suggest you go with Vista now, it's really changed over time. Our install's do come with Vista's hot-fixes as well. If you want XP, that's fine as well.
