I plan to order a new computer from Digital Storm.

My questions are:
Does a single GTX 590 function as an SLI setup in relation to the interaction of a video game.

Example: Rift does not support SLI. Would a GTX 590 use both GPU's or a single GPU on the card.

I been reviewing the images from the the liquid cooling setup, very nice and looks very clean. The question I have and I assume that you already do this; do you use silver plated components? I ask this because I'm aware nickel can be troublesome.

My final question is, if I purchase a new system and new/better graphics cards happen to be released shortly after my purchase, can I exchange for the new line of cards? I ask this because I'm aware that the GTX 600 series is close to release and could be released by the time I purchase my system from Digital Storm.

Thank you in advance for your time

The GTX 590 is two under powered 580's connected via an SLI bridge. So in any game that does not support SLI, like Rift, it will only use 1 of the 2 GPUs. All double GPU cards have a million issues and are never a better choice when compared to a real SLI set up.

Regular single chip GPUs will beat dual chip GPUs 1v1 and 2v2. 1v1 would be games like Rift where it does not use SLI. A single real GPU, like a GTX 570 2.5GB, will beat the 590 in performance. In 2v2, which would be games that do support SLI, a x2 GTX 570 2.5GB SLI set up will beat the GTX 590.

Alex or someone will have to answer your question on liquid cooling. To try and clarify though, are you just talking about the thermal compound or the actually pieces themselves? Full plating any part in silver would be very expensive.

DS does have an upgrade program if you go through them. You would have to speak to them directly for a price quote.

In order to give you the best help please make a thread in the Configuration section and lets us know what it is you want and what it is you need. For example, to recommend the right graphics cards and other hardware we need to know the resolution of the monitor you are going to be playing on and what games you intend on playing.

Thanks jmaster299.

@Mythblaze, the water blocks we use are from Swiftech, Koolance, EK, etc... Nickel can (just like any other metal plating) an issue if not done correctly, the brands we use should have no problem.

In regards to the liquid cooling, I was talking about the compression fittings and water blocks. I also want to thank you Jmaster for answering my question about the 590.

Alex, thank you for the information about the liquid cooling components.

The 7970 and 7950 are both over priced for the performance they offer. The best performance for dollar option available is the GTX 570 2.5GB. The GTX 570 2.5GB beats the 7950 and it almost matches the 7970 but it costs $150 less.
