Quick (most likely) BIOS question, urgent please

Hi

I don't have any experience with ASUS motherboards and BIOS. Just got my new build Apollo with modest overclock and decided to go to BIOS.
Upon entering BIOS there is a prompt:

Load Previous Values

Choices OK or CANCEL

Which one I must select to keep Digital Storm tweaks and overclock?

This is it.
Appreciate quick help.

I've never seen that message, put that way.  Usually it's load default values to drop the overclock.  It could mean the new, DS overclocked settings weren't saved on Exit and its asking if you want to drop them.   I'm guessing, but my pick would be to select CANCEL.

Even if you do load default settings /values by mistake , you can go into the Tools tab, I believe,  and load the saved profile from there. 

Save on exit to retain what you have.

When you're done, you can use CPU-Z to check that the oc is still there.   The lower left of the screen displays the oc in Mhz next to  core speed when cpu is under load.

Choose Cancel - it seems that my BIOS is not overclocked?! Unless I have to choose profile (how to do this), have no clue what I am suppose to do - just wanted to check overclock values in the first place.

In PERFORMANCE Windows section under power settings, there is a setting to lower CPU performance to 5% when on idle, should I change it to 100% so CPU run at full blast all the time, prior to CPUZ?
Otherwise, I already checked CPUZ, it was showing regular clock speed, in my case 4790K, 4GHz, but DS reported overclocking upon my request to 4.4GHz?

You don't need to go into Bios to check the overclock.      Google CPU-Z, download it, run it and while its running, play a game, or run Windows Experience Index, etc and the home screen of CPU-Z will display the overclock.  If the oc is 4.2 Ghz as an example, then CPU-Z will show it as 4200 Mhz.

Are you putting a load on the cpu?  The oc only kicks in under load.

If the oc isn't showing correctly, call DS.   I wouldn't change anything until you do.

I am not stressing CPU, just want to know my setup for sure, while I am loading programs to PC.

I have some experience in the past with overclocking AMD Phenoms via software...

called already, waiting for call back, apparently tech support first line just helping little and refer to second tier for anything serious, Second tier suppose to call back.

Yeah, that 4.0 ghz is that cpu's base clock so its an indicator the cpu isn't under load.   You won't know until you stress the cpu, and then the oc will kick in.

Doubtful you don't have the oc that DS said you did.  I don't think I've ever seen anyone come here that didn't have it.  The exceptions were when someone hit the clear cmos by mistake , some mobo's have a button for that, or an improper shutdown cause it.

installing OCCT to do a simple simple check.
Already disabled power saving in Windows - increased 5% to 100% and my clock is default - 4 GHzCry

I could be wrong, never knew anyone to adjust the Windows power savings for oc, but I believe that's not a good indicator.   That might only affect the chips base clock and have no effect on the Bios's overclock settings.
  But, I am guessing on that.    

Stress the cpu and then check.  That'll tell you.

Windows power settings allows to use CPU at maximum capacity at all times, or gave a break and use 100% power only when needed

Now I would be worried about temps - it hit already 72 C on OCCT, and it is cold in my room, about 20 C.

I checked in past, OCCT was giving CPU stress about equal or a bit more (20%) than Crysis on my older overclocked PC.

So, OCCT stressing is basically a real world situation, like playing CPU demanding games.

Thanks for your assistance.

P.S. just got a call from DS tier 2 support, was advised not to go to BIOS at all.

Oh Well, now I would have to figure our BIOS fan settings for my Noctua NH-D14.

I used ASUS AI Suite, you can monitor the CPU speed there easily ( if you have an ASUS board I know this works.)

I run something like furmark CPU burner, or Prime 95 to load the CPUs
