Can a QX9775 LGA771 be installed on a 790i mobo???? The mobo is LGA775 not 771 so it cant right? Is it a laptop cpu?

No, the QX9775 can not be put into a 790i. If you are looking to upgrade, you can get the QX9770 for the 790i.

The QX9775 is not a laptop cpu, it is a server cpu.
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star.

the qx9775 is the only quad core extreme chip that is basically a server CPU and runs on a server platform, in short as skyR already said, no a socket 775 won't fit a socket 771
