Was just wondering what anyone thought of the RAID 0 set up. I do not see it in any of the suggested configs on the other posts.

if you are doing it for games, its pointless, if you want faster read and write speed go ahead.
check out number 9 here (click on the HDD in the image) the gaming comment there, I don't agree with, from what I understand is not correct tho, cause games make use of seek time and difference in seek time in raid vs none raid is very little, for example a veloci raptor has seek time of 7.0ms, a veloci raptor in raid 0 has a seek time of 6.82Ms, as you see the difference is very little. Thanks, was thinking of RAID 0 because the VelociRaptor HD is a little too rich for me atm. |

you won't get the veloci seek time, even if you raid, the only way to get veloci's seek time it to get veloci
, why not just go with a 500GB drive now and then down the road upgrade to a veloci?
