    Posted: 06 May 2012 at 6:02pm
My wife and I just purchased two Digital Storm Systems to replace our 3 year old Velocity Micro Systems.  She has received hers; mine is in the final manufacturing stages.  Both have RAID 1.

We booted hers for the first time today.  There is no apparent desktop level RAID management utility that has been loaded onto her system.  I was told on a separate thread that that the functionality would be available from the desktop on our new systems.  Both of us had that functionality on our previous systems via the Intel Matrix Storage Manager, which was downloadable from the Intel site.  The functionality was particularly useful as it enabled you to monitor RAID health, rebuilds, etc. from the desktop.

Questions:

1.  Is there a corresponding utility for the newer mother board ASUS P9X79 DELUXE (Intel X79 Chipset), and, if so, where can it be found an downloaded?

2.  If not, is there in fact a Windows 7 utility or service which provides that functionality?

Thanks in advance for any help.

The software your looking for does eat up resources which is why it wasn't installed. The raid benefits and monitoring is automatically happening from the hardware level, but, if you would like to see it in the software as well it's very easy. You'll need to insert the motherboard driver CD into the system and install the Intel Raid utility.

As always, thanks Alex.  Your amazingly fast response on a Sunday night makes me feel a tad guilty for not waiting until Monday to post the question.  I found the utility per your directions.

One major problem I do have with L's new system is that now that I've seen it and worked with hers I'm finding it rather difficult to contain my excitement for my own.  It's beautiful.  The care and professionalism of Digital Storm is apparent in so many details.
