Looing to make my system running RAID but I only know about it 1% of how it works. I use my DS rig for primarily gaming 90% and the occasional photoshop, After Effects, 3D max 2010 and some guitar recording.
I have dont have a ton a money to move to SSD's (but i have noticed they are coming down in cost)
I have the Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1 TB 32 cache as my primary drive. The other one is West gate 1 TB 32 cache. Can yo run these in RAID? For what I have read they have to be the same, just like SPU running SLI and or crossfire.
since I have everything already on my Seagate, I can get either 1 or 2 more drive and run RAID. so my questions are:
1) which configuration is going to give me better performance?
2) Can i keep the different drive and use it just for long term storage, and run the other drives in RAID?
3) is it hard to configure in the BIOS?
Sorry to ask such a long question, but the DS community is the best

I don't think it's worth going to RAID, especially if 90% of your use is gaming. You run into risking data loss and other issues if you go with RAID.
