I thought the idea of the extra fan set that is installed by DS when you choose to have your memory overclocked might be a good idea regardless ..
In other words, I'm going to ask if DS can install the extra cooling for the RAM but WITHOUT overclocking.

Sound like a good idea ?

Yes you can get the fan without asking for OC, you need to let them know that when you call them and place the order, it should run you around $20 just for the fan and I always recommend to people to do that if they are not going to OC the ram.

OCZ specially has a cool looking fan for their ram

When you have special instructions such as this .. should the order be called in as opposed to online ordering ?

Best way to order with DS is to call them on the phone, specially when you have request, you can give them your ticket number from the site so you don't have to tell them everything piece by piece

I want to get 4 gigs for now ... but I'm still a little confused about the (mhz) part ...

THANK YOU .. I'M ALMOST THERE !! Heart

Sorry, I know I've been all over the place with my questions, but I've been doing a lot of reading and comparing ... but I want to thank you again for your help and I'm going to get the word in for you when I call DS with my order.

And by the way, I am going for the fan kit on the RAM w/o overclock.. I think its a good idea, especially with the 790 board .. seems to run a little more hot then others... (but sounds like the best one out there for sure )Hug

Always OCZ, and I don't think it will be a problem I think its ~25 bucks for the addition of the Memory Cooler.

No your questions were pretty straight thanks for the word I think the ram fan w/o OC is a great idea, you can always OC the ram if you decide you want to do that
