The Corsair Dominator fans that came with my DS overclocked RAM are rattling - well, one of them is. I cleaned them, tightened the screws, reseated it....still rattling. Removed them and no more annoying rattling.
So, are the fans necessary or do they just look neat? I know more cooling is better than less, but is it something worth bothering DS with? You can try using it without the memory fan, if you have issues with performance or stability, you should put it back on. It's interesting that they are still rattling... Try to shake it and see what might be the issue? If you really want, call us and we can do a replacement.
Warm Regards,
Alex

Alex, I've got the fans out now. I leave my computer on 24/7, so I'll let it go for a couple of days and see if there are any issues.
I tried to find the source of the noise and can't come up with anything. Perhaps one of the fan heads became unbalanced? If there is a stability or performance problem, I'll put them back in until Monday and just deal with the annoyance until after the holiday weekend. Thankx for the quick reply though. |
