RAM speed?

How can you tell the speed of your ram? I got 1600mhz on my build, but when  I run CPU-Z and under the SPD tab it tells me it's PC3 - 10700h (667mhz). I am a noob at this stuff Big%20smile, still learning, well trying to learn Smile

look under the memory tab.. lol
 this is 2200Mhz RAM  take the Dram Freq. and muiltiply by 2

The way the Overclock on the i7 series works is this.
You see the bus speed? It is called the base clock, yours is 179, you must have a classified? it is always is .5 low on the B-clock
Now look at your multiplier, 21. Take 21 x 178.5 =CPU speed 3,749Mhz.
Now your RAM speed is also derived from the base clock. See in CPUz where is says FSB:DRAM? That is your RAM multiplier. So take your Base clock of 178.5 x 8 = 1432Mhz.
So using this info you can see that if you want your RAM to be at 1600Mhz you would either have to Raise the B-clock to 200, or lower the B-clock to 160 and raise them Multi to 10.
That would also either raise your CPU speed to 4200Mhz, which would require a stage 2 overclock, or lower your CPU speed to 3360Mhz..
