    Posted: 22 Mar 2009 at 5:01pm
Hello. I bought one of the pre-built DS rigs a month or so ago. i7 920 OC'ed to 3.3, GTX, 285, Antac case, 3 gigs 1333Mhz RAM.  You know the one on the front cover for $1899.  Here is my question/issue.  I am getting out of memory errors (!) while playing WoW.  I always heard Vista was a hog but this is ridiculous.  According to the site, my RAM is 3 gigs of DDR3 1333Mhz Corsair Dominator DHX, three sticks of 1gig a piece.  I have had little luck in finding those exact sticks to purchase for an upgrade to 6 gigs of RAM.  Ergo, the following questions:

1) Can someone point me to where I can buy these sticks? I could not seem to find them at Newegg.
2) Considering the EVGA X58 mobo, do I need to purchase 3 more 1gig sticks or shell out for 3 all new 2gig sticks?  I ask this question because it looks like I have 6 slots, but then I could be in error.

Any advice?

you can do 6 x 1GB or 3 x 2GB on evga x58.

just find out the timing of your current ram and just match it with another ram, as long as your timining are the same you are good to go

By timing do you mean the 1333 number or something else?

no 1333 is the speed, run CPU-z then look at the memory tab for the timings:
(CL)
(tRCD)
(tRP)
(tRAS)

Ok, I ran your app.  The numbers are (in order of what you listed):

9.0 clocks
9
9
24

With those specs, what RAM stick from Newegg would you recommend, Sir?  Again, many thanks for your assistance.

It could be that the page file was full to.  I used to have OOM errors untill i increased it.
Rock: "We're sub-standard DPS. Nerf Paper, Scissors are fine."
Paper: "OMG, WTF, Scissors!"
Scissors: "Rock is OP and Paper are QQers. We need PvP buffs."
