Ok, When I start up my pc, I usually open up CS:S (Counter-Strike Source) and play. I dont get lag until about 15 minutes has passed. I get lag which makes me restart my pc so I can play smooth again. Also, If I start up my pc, and I open a program before opening the game, I'll get bad lag also. Please help me.

Specs:
AMD Athlon(tm) 64X2 Daul Core Processor 5200+
2.69GHz
3.25 GB of RAM (Windows XP)
7600 GS (Ordered 8800 GT)

probly an overheating issue of some sort because i cant see why it would play fine til after a while

I'm being told its my Power Supply? I got only a 300WATT powersupply. That bad.. right? If it is, and you're sure its the problem, please tell me what I need. How many watts.

500 should be good, i would say go with 850 tho, if you plan on going into SLI or crossfire with two cards
your 300 Watt psu is def WAY behind the recommended supply of 450+ for most graphics cards

Im just looking for a PowerSupply that works well for my specs right and still got extra WATTS for my pc. So is 585WATT good for my specs:

Adding on, I've chat wth my friend and he says:

Friend
(6:17:27 PM):
powersupply = POWER your COMPUTER
Friend (6:17:42 PM): "power"
Friend (6:17:50 PM): it supplies it to your computer..
Friend (6:16:50 PM): >.> the powersupply powers the video card.
ME (6:16:59 PM): yeea
Friend (6:17:02 PM): i wouldn't think thats why your lagging

Is he right or wrong? Is it or is it not the powersupply that causing the lag?

could be
when parts of the computer dont get enough power they dont work correctly

you should at least check on your temps to make sure nothings overheating

ye make sure u have no viruses :D

some viruses ive seen and had to get rid of make your CPU run at 80-90% load all the time its rly annoying, id rather have one of those viruses with lots of pop ups xD

This pc wasnt bought with all this part together, I custom built this pc so all the parts are random, they didnt come in all together as one whole pc.
