DO you need to have your os on a raptor to and your games to lower loading time. From what I think I understand putting your os on a raptor just helps windows load faster while storing games on a raptor makes loading time quicker when in game is any of this true? |

NP boss but remember just the pics are not enough, there are instructions in that post that you need to follow.
also remember this is for moving OS from one drive to another, but the clone is gonna be used in the same system. if moving the clone drive is suppose to be used in another system, then the steps are much different and a much harder thing to pull off

That means you'll have to have a working OS, and the NEW Drive you need to transfer the OS, and the EXternal or Internal Drive you saved the Cloned OS. Right?
So to simply for my low level of understanding, It's like a DVD1 Disc then create an image from the DVD1 Disc and burn it to a new DVD Disc?? ![]() |

kinda of yes, but in this case we are cloning (copying) the whole drive, so it not just OS, its what ever was on that drive, including mbr and all.
basically lets say you had a 500GB HDD for your OS, and now you have bought a veloci Raptor and would like to use that as your OS drive and use the 500GB HDD as your second drive for storage. so: 1. you clone the 500GB to the Raptor 2. you take out the 500GB and replace it with the cloned Raptor 3. you boot up using the Raptor to make sure everything works well. 4. once everything is working well you format the 500GB drive and use it as your second HDD. Pleasure
btw if anybody wants a freeware to do this (copy drive to drive) you can try WD's Data Lifeguard Tools you can use its copy feature to copy from drive to drive. you use the dos version and burn it to a cd and boot off of it. Edited by DST4ME - 12 Nov 2008 at 1:15am |
