I decided to go with DS for my new PC.  I am not a hardcore PC gamer, but when I do have time to play (I'm in pharmacy school, therefore I don't have much free time) I like it to look nice and play smooth and fast.  I like FPS games (Call of Duty series, Farcry, Medal of Honor Airborne, HL2, etc), and games like Fable and NFS Carbon.  I'm wanting to buy Bioshock, Crysis, Cod4, and the like as well.  If I can play games at 1024, or even 1280+, with some good AA and AF I'd be happy.  I've never owned a PC that could, so I don't know a ton about what AA/AF and stuff are.  This is going to be my only PC, used for doing school research, listening to music, and of course, games.  I'd like to keep the PC in this dollar range, though I can go up or down if needed.  Up to around $1800, and as low as I can make it and do what I want LOL

System Configuration:Case: Digital Storm Twister PRO (Black Anodized Aluminum Finish)

Motherboard: nVidia 650i Core 2 Quad (By: eVGA) (nForce 650i Ultra)
Memory: 2GB DDR2 Corsair at 800MHz XMS2 (Dual Channel) (Extreme-Performance)
Floppy / Media: Sony 1.44MB Floppy (Black Edition)

Warranty: 3 Year Platinum Care Extended Parts & Labor Warranty
Support: Lifetime Toll-Free Platinum Care Technical Support

A Few Questions:
1)Is the Power Supply enough or overkill?
2)The E6750 "Enhanced" Processor: This would be further overclocked up to around 3.0 GHz with stage 3 cooling, correct?  Is the performance increase over say the standard 6750 (OC'd) noticeable, even in games?
3) The Graphics card.  Would the 512 MB 8600GTS work just as well for me?  I don't even know if my monitor can go over 1280.
4) FINALLY, what is Lightscribe Edition?  It's on the DVD Drive.  Dumb Question, but that drive reads and writes, correct?

I've read many other reviews, and after several days decided on this one.  The only thing I debate on is Vista.  I know the problems, and I like XP, but I want this to be ready for the future.  It's prolly just preference.  If Vista won't be stable enough to use reliably for another 6-12 more months, I might go with XP and buy Vista later.

Sorry for the really long winded explanation. I just wanted to make sure you had enough info to help. Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your PSU is good.

If you want better overclocking results, I suggest going with the 680i A1 board.

Sadly the 8600 GTS won't cut it for games like Crysis... You should wait until Oct 29th for the new 8800 GT... The 8800GT is going to replace the 8800 GTS 320, and it performs in between the current 8800 GTS 640 and GTX.

Yes your drive can read and write. Lightscribe is just for printing labels onto the disc.

Vista has no issues with any of the COD/MOH games so I'd recomment just going with it.

Which version do you have?

Premium works fine for me, the only issue I had was when I went into COD2 no one could hear me in ventrilo until I changed to admin status. Other than that I can get 250 constant in DX7 and 125 constant in DX9.
