Hey guys,
Just got my new DS system 2 days ago (and I am loving it Ouch ). I installed a couple games yesterday, along with ventrilo. I'm having a bit of an issue getting the mic on the HP-1 headset to work properly. I have been told that people are having a hard time hearing me on ventrilo. I checked the microphone boost feature in the Razer Barracuda Control Panel (also have Analog output on HD-DAI) and upped my outbound in ventrilo the highest it would go. People can finally hear me...but they now report I have static accompanying my voice every once in a while. I have the HP-1 directly hooked into the AC-1 soundcard. Id like to make it so that people can hear me clearly. Below are the current settings I have for sound and the mic. Please let me know if I have made a silly mistake and need to change some small feature.

Control Panel Sound option: Playback: Speakers - Razer Barracuda AC-1 Gaming Audio Card- WORKING
Recording: Microphone - Razer Barracuda AC-1 Gaming Audio Card

Ventrilo Setting:
Output Device: Speakers (Razer Barracuda AC-1)
only other option that works is Default Direct Sound device.

Input Device: Microphone (Razer Barracuda AC-1)

I also want to make sure I am getting the best sound quality possible in game. Ive been playing COD4 a bit and I havent noticed a tremendous difference in sound quality( compared to the soundblaster card on my laptop), though I notice things like explosions sound better. Ive checked my device manager, etc, and the computer fully recognizes the AC-1 card and does not conflict with anything. My drivers are up to date. I also tried using the Razer Barracuda Driver Disc to be sure...but get an error message when I run it. Error Message: Don't support this platform 0.
