So my ***********e X51 kicked the bucket and I'm looking to pick up another gaming pc. I've heard some good things on the web about the Bolt line and would like some help getting a configuration for one of the Intel Core X series.
Budget: Around $3,500 Expectations: A smaller rig that can handle games while not running too hot. Usage: Mostly gaming, things like Wow or League along with general web surfing. Special Needs: I'm not looking for an open liquid cooling system as I don't have any experience cleaning those. Thanks for the help. ... competitor name removed ... We will need to know the monitor resolution you intend to game at so we can determine the video card that's right for the build.
We do not recommend the core X CPUs for gaming for the simple fact the i7 8700k is the best chip for the job. Base clock is 3.7 GHz, and it turbos to 4.7 on core one and 4.6 on core two when required. Although any computing job will will benefit from more power applied, gaming is pretty much a function of the first two cores and the awesome power of an appropriate GPU. if you want to step up from there, you could opt for the i7 8086k which turbos at 5.0. The core X series are designed more for serious number crunching in science and business apps. Come back with your resolution. |
