Currently running a 40" 4K TV as a monitor, but may be purchasing a smaller gaming monitor in the next few months.

I have suggestions if VR is where you are going.   I suspect you will need a stronger GPU like the RTX 2080 Super to do a proper job at 4K.    I would suggest to fund that adjustment by reducing the motherboard to the MSI Gaming Pro Carbon (WiFi) and using Corsair Vengeance RAM.    I would also suggest switching to the Corsair H100i Pro 240mm cooler for a better 5 yr warranty than the 1 yr DS unit.

Those changes just top $3000, and qualifies for $300 off on sale!   You would have a much stronger 4K gaming and VR rig with the RTX 2080 Super that would keep up a lot longer down the road and play at much higher settings.

Lynx Build1. Config # 2550320. ($3037 minus DS Sale $300 off = $2737 Total)

See what you think!

Did you go with your original configuration or with the revisions suggested by HB?

Updated RAM and cooler.
The dollars to performance boost from the 2060 super to 2080 super did not make sense to me.   I may reconsider later when I looking into 2nd gen VR
