Hi all. I just got my new Slade with the Asus Z87 Sabertooth MB in it.
It has the: Realtek® ALC1150 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC - Supports : Jack-detection, Multi-streaming, Front Panel Jack-retasking - High quality 112 dB SNR stereo playback output (Line-out at rear) and 104 dB SNR recording input (Line-in) Audio Feature : - Absolute Pitch 192kHz/ 24-bit True BD Lossless Sound - Optical S/PDIF out port(s) at back panel - BD Audio Layer Content Protection I have the optical output going to my 5.1 receiver, but can only set it for 2 channel sound. Anybody figure out how to get it to output Dolby 5.1 yet? ![]() Thanks. |

The only thing I could find was that bundled software is needed to use 5.1 with the Optical. Sound Blaster Cinema Software to enable all the ALC1150 capabilities is needed according to some.
Not sure this helps, but you might get lucky. |
