   As some of you may recall, I had to send my badass machine back to DS after it was felled by various component failures early in its life.

Although this was a pain -- sending and receiving a fragile, $3K, water-cooled state-of-the-art computer via road transportation will never be my idea of fun -- DS got down to work and, despite enormous competing pressures, tested it, replicated the failures, swapped out the components and got it back to me.

The PC is now running beautifully after two weeks of fairly demanding gaming.

There were times when I wondered if I had over-estimated DS, yet deep down I knew that they could not be held fully responsible for component failures and that the perfect storm of component meltdown I had experienced was at least in part, exceptionally bad luck.

So, Alex, Jason and the log-suffering Eric: thanks guys.  I know it got a little hairy but you won back a loyal customer and I'm not inclined to buy PCs, including laptops, anywhere else now, especially with this level of service.  You boys have your moments of eccentricity, shall we say, but I'd rather deal with that than the impersonal indifference of your corporate-owned competitors.
