    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 at 1:00pm
Hello,

I received the lynx level 4 last night and after about 2 hours of gaming the GPU is seemingly dying? I'm not sure if that's the case, but just from what I've read online that seems to be what they point to with the issues I'll describe.

So essentially I was playing for a bout 2 hours with no issues then all of a sudden freeze into crash. During the crash the screen went static like black/white you would see from an old TV type of static. I had only played one game when all this happen so I'm not sure what would've been the case on a different game, but now everygame I've tried has terrible artifacting and specks of what look like static? all over the screen. The computer seemingly works fine to browse the internet watch videos or do whatever at least at the moment. However, as soon a game starts it all goes bad.

I've reinstalled the driver, reverted the driver to previous version, reinstalled windows, reset the bios to default(said no changes made so I don't know if lynx level 4 comes with any bios changes). I just don't know anymore I've waited a while to receive it just to be met with this. I've tried everything I could find on the internet every setting tweak in the Radeon software people online said worked for them, but nothing. I understand something could've happened during shipping maybe something got out of place, but it worked for so well for the few hours when I first started then all of a sudden it just went.

Im just thinking out loud, So bare with my hungover thought process:
55 degrees is pretty awesome so I doubt its heat issues
Try a different video cable?
Try a different video out port on the back of the video card?
Some monitors have multiple input ports, try a different one?
Try to un-install/re-install monitor driver in device manager

Tried new cable, new monitor, drivers. Only one video port on back of card the video cables I have at the moment. Not sure what's even left to do even when DS does reach out.

See if they will sent you a new graphics card. Problem is, you can send it back to them and they’ll probably replace for free. But you’ll be waiting forever

You mentioned that you re-installed Windows, Did you do a fresh install? (deleting everything). Im asking because I ran across this utility DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) that really really un-installs video driver(s) completely.

Yeah hoping not to send it back, but if it doesn't work and that's the only way no option. And I've done the driver uninstall through DDU.. still same issues.

UGH, Try a different PCIE slot on the motherboard to verify if its the GPU or motherboard.

My last suggestion sorry

Just an update for anyone who cares... Swapped out the card with my old old GTX 970 and all games running flawlessly. So yeah seems it was a dead gpu just 3 hours after my initial set up. Pretty crazy considering all the stress testing and QA but things happened I suppose. I will update with what happens with support.

Edit: Would've done this sooner, but completely slipped my mind I had this pc still laying around.

Unfortunately with electronics things just happen. My first DS computer worked just fine for about 3 months and then started crashing for no real reason. After a bit of trouble shooting it was a bad memory card. DS replaced all 4 of them and never had a problem with them for 5+ years until I updated my computer.

[email protected]    May help you expedite.

About what Gewd said, there shouldn't be much delay as the Lynx 4 GPUs are not known to be in short supply.

Sorry for the trouble, but electronic parts do stuff like this.
