So, I have pretty much decided on the HAFX over the hailstorm for my aircooled system.  I know I can add another 200mm fan to the top and 80x15 and 120x38 fans to the VGA holder and VGA fan ducts respectively.

So the question is what brands of fans should I be looking at and are there downsides (besides perhaps noise) to adding one or both of the VGA fans?

If I count right that would be 2 top, 1 front, 1 rear, 1 side, 2 VGA, and a CPU fan.  8 fans.....

The top fan would be the CoolerMaster MegaFlow 200 Silent non led, but I'm sure others will be fine.

From the config you posted a couple of days ago, you really don't need all the added fans.  The single gtx670FTW will vent most of its heat out the case and the D14 will kick the cpu heat out through the back fan.

The HafX ,as-is, will do just fine.

But, its up to you .  Big%20Smile

thanks bprat.  Of course the longer I read the forums the more expensive my system gets :P

I am now at 2 sli 670FTW for GPU and added another ssd.

I curious about you saying the FTW will vent its heat out of the case? is this through the side fan?

The 670 fan picks up air from inside the case, passes it over the gpu heatsink on the card and sends the heat out the vents on the mounting bracket next to monitor connectors and out of the case.

This is the 670.  The FTW I believe has bigger vents.

Hi caver,

I have the HAF X case with 2 GTX 670s in sli.  I talked to DS about the 2 internal Fans. They said my system was setup in a push/pull configuration so they wouldn't help at all and would actually make it worse.

If you are going with SLI and want those 2 fans talk to them 1st about it.

ahh good to know asangard.  I was leaning towards not using the 2 GPU optional fans anyway given the plethora of fans already, but didn't know if 2 overclocked 670's would benefit from them.
