You want a x58 system here. You can change the graphics card to a gtx 480 if you want. If you are not planning to go sli/cf in the future drop the 1000 watt psu and get 750 corsair and drop the le board with the micro board

hilarious.
sorry about that sikboy, lets see what i can do for you, brb
suffice to say, hes right about the processor, pretty much if youre going over 1500, x58 is for you, 8 gb of ram is way over the top, i came in about $60 under your price, and it will game much harder...
is there a reason you chose the 875k and No overclocking?
in the rediculous amount of reading ive done on noctua recently, i feel safe in saying the d14 has little to offer over the d12, if you really want those last few degrees, use the $50 difference to buy two sick fans for your d12 and a full tank of gas.
$2242

Had to put the case because I'm sure the first thing someone would've said "go with a HAF" No Idea why I mentioned the burner Went with the unlocked processor because it had slightly higher stock speed, no good?Edited by Sikboy1029 - 09 Jun 2010 at 10:49am |

oh no, sikboy, my snide comment was made about the post above mine. i was having a good giggle becuase you only listed 2 conditions and he didnt meet 50% of them.
whoever told you to go with HAF was 100% right. stick with that
now, about the 875k. yes is does have a slightly higer stock speed than its counterpart, the 860, but it is definitely not worth $37 to go from 2.8 to 2.93 -especially- when you consider that the 875k was pretty much released with the sole intention of easy as crap overclocking. also with the low temps this chip is supposed to have, you should be able to get a significant power gain from overclocking it without much trouble from temps.
my only goal was to steer you up a little becuase of your price range. but make no mistake, gains of going up to x58 are pretty limited
if you do not intend on adding a second gpu or buying a gulftown (6 core processor) and you love or want to learn overclocking, the 875k will serve you well

Well I would like a motherboard with esata but is the x58 3x sli worth the extra money if I don't plan on using multiple cards in sli?

did you check the other mobos? the rampage 2 gene has an esata port... i didnt look through all of them, but im pretty sure the p6t does too short answer would be: i dont see any reason to get a 3x card if you arent going to sli at all, i would make a list of all the features you want, then compare the 5-6 lowest cost mobos to see what fits your needs, thats waht i would do, i always suggest pickign the mobo last

I'm actually considering the haf x case now even though I'm sure it will be a dust trap, it has some good reviews and an esata port built into the case.
