Hello Everyone
I've been lurking about in the forums reading a bit and getting a feel for Digital Storm as a company, and the feedback of its customers. I was looking to upgrade my studio pc and had already ordered one from Cyberpower (having read the reviews etc. listed on their website) There were several delays in filling the order, with vague reasons why, so I decided to go to a 3rd party review site and see what I could find out. I went to Reseller.com and read quite a number of rather scary (horrifying) reviews regarding Cyberpower product quality and especially poor customer service. More than one of these reviewers mentioned going instead to Digital Storm to purchase a pc, so I read reviews for Digital Storm on the same website. It was like night and day, many very pleased customers, and the few that had issues were responded to without exception. Also many comments on exceptional customer service. The more I read, the more confident I became that this was a very solid company that stood behind their products. As a result, I cancelled my order with Cyberpower, and ordered a new pc with Digital Storm (I'm currently in stage 2).
I've worked professionally as a musician for many years, and I am currently moving into scoring for film/television/games. I also like to game a bit, so I decided try both on one pc, with a dual boot system. XP professional for my studio work (its a much better platform than Vista for most recording/music software) and Vista Ultimate for DX10/gaming/learning the ropes of the new OS.
I'm upgrading from a Gateway pc:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800
2 gig ram
320gb IDE HD
Geforce 7900gs video
I'm upgrading to:
Case: Digital Storm 850Si (Black Anodized Aluminum Finish) Power Supply: 750W Corsair HX (Dual SLI Compatible) (Silent Edition) Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz (1066MHz FSB) (8MB Cache) Motherboard: nVidia 780i Core 2 Quad (By: eVGA) (nForce 780i SLI) Memory: 2GB DDR2 Corsair at 1066MHz Dominator (Dual Channel) (Extreme-Performance) Hard Drive 1: 500GB Western Digital (16MB Cache) (7200 RPM) (SATA) Optical Drive 1: DVD-ROM/CD-ROM (DVD Reader 16x / CD Reader 40x) Optical Drive 2: DVD±R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 20x / CD-Writer 48x) Network Card: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card: 2x SLI Dual (nVidia GeForce 8800GTS 512MB (By: eVGA) (PCI-Express) Sound Card: Motherboard Multi-Channel High Definition Audio Cooling: Air Cooled Stage 3 WindTunnel (Copper Heatpipe Heatsink & Zalman Case Fans) Case Lighting: Blizzard Internal Lighting (Red Edition) (Cold Cathode Tubes) User Manual: Personalized Platinum Digital Storm Binder (Includes Paperwork/Benchmarks/CDs/Manuals) Overclock Processor: Yes, Overclock the processor as much as possible with complete stability Windows OS: Dual Boot (Windows XP Professional & Windows Vista Ultimate) Restore Kit: Digital Storm Specialized Recovery System (DVD Image Based Keyboard: Microsoft Multimedia Desktop 2.0 (Multimedia Keyboard + Optical Wheel Mouse Warranty: 3 Year Platinum Care Extended Parts & Labor Warranty Support: Lifetime Toll-Free Platinum Care Technical Support I'm very much looking forward to some overclocked mach 2 with my hair on fire quad-core love for the studio and for gaming, and the SLI'd G92 8800GTS's should give me that extra push over the cliff, to go to 11 so to speak
I also look forward to posting on these forums now and then and getting to know you.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I just read today that the 8800GTS 512 (G92) can be overclocked by DS, that they have the bios package to do it now. I have a couple questions regarding this: 1. Would it be difficult to OC the cards myself using Rivatuner (I've never tried to OC SLI'd cards before)?
2. Would the OC cause the cards to run hotter when idle? (and would the fans have to run faster at idle making more fan noise)?
3. Would a factory OC using bios be more stable than something done with Rivatuner by a semi novice? /grin
4. Would I gain much noticable performance OC'ing the 2 cards (would it be worth it?)
5. My machine is currently in stage 3, is it too late to have DS overclock the video cards?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
