I've had my PC for about 10 months and it has been acting up lately. Programs taking unusually long to open. Tabbing through full screen applications causing freezing etc. So i reformatted as suggested on these forums.
I used the windows 7 disc that came with my PC and reformatted. I have a couple questions.
The only other disc i used out of the binder was my mother board disc to install the chipset and everything seems to be running fine.
I assume widows 7 installed and updated all my other drivers should i still go ahead still and use the other 3 disc. One is a Zotac disc for my 275gtx the other 2 have a collection of drivers on them.
Also what exactly is the "Image disc" provided the DS and do i miss out on aything by not using it and instead doing a fresh reformat and windows install?
Final question is i noticed another partition when reformatting:
Partition 1: System Reserved
Total Size: 100MB
Free Space 71MB
Type: System
What is this partition used for and would it be bad to delete it? I don't plan on deleting just curious.

when you reformat the only disk you need is the win7 oem, delete all existing partitions and install a fresh windows.
all the other cds are driver disks which will surely be outdated by the time you are ready to reformat your computer.
the only useful installs your mobo cd will have could be your LAN drivers, which of course are needed to connect to the internet. This may come already availible, in which case most of the stuff on your mobo disk is likely bloat or toys such as software overclock tweaking.. which isnt needed
for anything else just look up the most recent driver online. for example, your graphics card, just go to nvidias site and get the latest.. the driver on the graphics card CD will likely be very outdated
the image disk is exactly that, a snapshot of your hard drive at the exact time the cd was made. Think of it like your hard drive is an old vinyl record, you use that image CD to imprint the image of your hard drive at the time the cd was made and use it from there.
while its a handy idea, its not overly useful, as i said before. your best bet is to install a fresh windows 7 after deleting all partitions, and if you can get online, download the drivers for anything you use and leave everything else out.
the more you leave out, the more space you leave free to keep you nice and zippy until you are ready to reformat again

System Reserved (Windows 7's Recovery Environment/WinRE) helps diagnose/repair any errors that may prevent Windows 7 from booting successfully. When you reformat or install the OS on a new HDD, it creates the System Reserved partition but it has no drive letter.
I have read some who have successfully deleted the partition. I wouldn't recommend it.
