After 2 weeks in stage 3 I've decided to refund my purchase and build myself. Getting a better computer like 25% cheaper so I guess all my laziness has done is waste my time as usual. What a terrible experience.

11 business days into a stated 15-20 business day purchase? Perhaps, and this is just me conjecturing, but perhaps there are other issues rather than the build time.
Did I read somewhere that you've tried to contact the head of Customer Service, Alex ([email protected])? If not, that would be the logical next step as he is the knower and doer of all things Digital Storm. Good luck, mate. The restocking fee is going to negate any savings that you may try to realize with building your own... and the lifetime technical support from Digital Storm is sometimes not necessary if you're one of the lucky ones and are able to purchase your own parts that will work 100% of the time and are 100% compatible with the other parts. I would, however, take offense at the claim of a 'terrible experience' with the circumstances that you've presented. In your words, they're not fast enough for you? Ok. That information was readily available, and has been so, for as long as I've been around here. But, that's just me. Good luck and hope you get what you need. |

It's a terrible experience because support will not response and I was told it would be stage 5 yesterday by someone on the phone a few days ago AND it was a 10-15 day build time not 15-20 when I ordered. So I honestly I take offense to you taking offense. *shrug*

@blakeachaos, I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I do see notes from our team today stating they are expecting to ship your order this Thursday. Honestly it will be worth the wait, I'm hoping you can give us a chance to show you.

I am sorry that I have caused you any consternation. You know your facts much better than I do. I can only interpret what was written and sometimes I am wrong. Mea culpa
Did you try to contact Alex? Not "someone on the phone" but the head of CS? Everyone who has purchased a machine from Digital Storm (well, perhaps not everyone, but a good number of forums posters) has an issue with the time it takes, the "stage" emails (which have been a notorious weak spot), and the general waiting.... we get that, we understand. What we don't want to see is people who've waited so long actually turn down one of, if not THE best built computers out there. I have one of the budget models (<$2000) that was purchased 10 years ago this month. These machines are really that good and they are worth the wait. But again, you're doing you and I'm me... so all I can do if offer suggestions. |

I did try contacting Alex 5 days ago with no response. I sent an email asking who I talk to about a refund and received an email 5 minutes later saying it was sent to management and it will ship on the 7th. Funny how that works.

I was also told they "expected" my order to be at Stage 5 by the 4th which didn't happen. I'm going to go ahead and wait but just know if this computer doesn't get here early next week I am actually in a really bad situation. Since everyone here seems to trust you I'll put my faith in your word. |

Just curious... did you order overnight shipping or ground? And if ground, where do you live so we can have a guess at how long it would take if shipping happens on Thursday?

Dude I chose over night shipping, and the DS PC was at my door at 11:00 AM the next day. The DS PC works great, and was worth the time it took to be built. Plus there was no damage to the box it came in. Plus it was the cheapest option for shipping. Go figure.

The stages do not reflect the build stage correctly nor in real time. Another "reality" not meeting expectations type of thing. A very well discussed topic on the forums. The only thing that is real is the shipping tracking number. Enjoy. |

The problem with building your own system is getting the proper setting for the various components to maximize your system. Trial and error can be very difficult and frustrating. I understand that there are websites that can help with this issue. Anyway it looks like your issue with DS has been resolved
