I am getting my hard drives replaced, what do you do with the old drives you replaced? There is always a chance that information on hard drives can be retreived with software even if it was deleted/formatted.

The easiest nuclear option to remove data is drilling through the case and the platers. Roasting the drive over an open fire might also be way to pass a cold winter's night....

Or you could just get a progam that writes patterns of 1s and 0s all over the drive several times.

The Drill sounds like the most fun. Then you could go magnet mining.

I guess I should have been more clear. Digital Storm is replacing the drives with new ones. What are they going to do with my old drives.

I actually asked Alex if I could have your old drives so I could do some You Tube work.  I hope that's ok with you.

We wipe the drives to 0. There is absolutely no way there will be any data. This is why we get the special "Clean the Drive" software. Then we RMA with the factory for a new drive. We don't sell the used parts to a customer. So there's no risk of your private information being spread around.
