Don't care about fancy lights and RGB, I'd prefer functionality and sink more money into the hardware side. Somewhat concerned with the case size I've got for future upgrades.
Primarily for gaming at 1080...will want to upgrade monitor later and play at 1440 one day. I will attempt to keep this simple/brief. However, I operate on the mentality that the more facts the better, showing how one came to their conclusion. So, the comments will be at least somewhat technical.
1080p/1440p gaming does put a lot of workload on the CPU because processing graphics at those resolutions requires (generally) low effort for current GPUs. Indeed, the 12900K is a chart topper. Intel Core i7-12700K & 12700KF CPU Review, Benchmarks, & Efficiency | Gamers Nexus (YouTube) (Gaming benchmarks begin at time index 12:15) With that said, I would recommend switching to the 12700K as it is ultimately a better value.
I suggest switching to this storage setup:
The concept is based on organization/management. The main/OS drive is then "lean and mean," as @Cretae would say, and you would have a large bin (2TB) for your games library. Unless you have a different plan/intetion, that is. Additionally, this combination is $26 cheaper. The second drive could be a 2TB 980 Pro, but it's not worth the cost as you might gain a few seconds at best in loading times.
The 3070 Ti is the top 1440p GPU. So, if you're demanding the highest quality graphics and frame rates at QHD, it's a solid choice. However, if the idea is future proofing... Forget it. Pick the card that best fits or will slightly exceed your foreseeable expectations. Today's motherboards will automatically push CPUs to optimal peaks -- not bleeding edge but extract the majority of performance with practically no instability. Admittedly, this option could be DS ensuring those optimal auto-overclock settings are enabled/set -- which is really all you need nowadays. So, I cannot say with certainty this is unnecessary, although, I did want to note it for you. Edited by MrCheetah - 01 Jan 2022 at 10:16pm |

Changed the case as the ANTEC seems to allow for a little more room for GPU/CPU height/width for any future upgrades. Also threw in a new monitor into the mix as budget was 5k. Any areas I can make valid improvements, i.e. "worth juice for the squeeze" would be appreciated.

MrCheetah gave you very sound advice. I'm happy for you that it made sense to you. I have just a couple of things to add. Monitors may often be had a bit cheaper elsewhere. There is a convenience to ordering here, but you might want to shop a bit. The Asus is a good monitor.
More importantly, you should be aware your GPU choice will be obsolete by Summer. I don't use that word lightly. Have a look at this: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-3060-Ti-vs-Nvidia-RTX-2070S-Super/4090vs4048 That is last generations 1440p "supercard", and it can't beat a3060 Ti for speed, and the 3060 has GEN 2 ray tracing and DLSS which are both quite a leap forward from first gen. And now this: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-3060-Ti-vs-Nvidia-RTX-2080-Ti/4090vs4027 That is the TOP CARD from last gen which also struggles to beat out a 3060 Ti! In about 6-10 months, your 3070 Ti will suffer similar humiliation from what the next gen will bring. They will have better memory management and 3RD GEN raytracing and DLSS. Plus be faster at every level. I'd keep my $430 in my pocket, get VERY GOOD performance from a 3060 Ti at 1440p or lights out performance at 1080p, and see what miracles Nvidia has in store a few months from now.
