I don't plan on purchasing anytime soon, I'll need some help from the 'rents, once I find a job sometime near christmas...this is just sorta giving me an idea for my first custom computer, plus i'm waiting for some prices cuts. xD. I'll be mostly playing the newer/sometimes newest games. Mainly first person shooters (COD:WAW, COD4, Day of defeat: source)...I don't play crysis. I play all games at a 1440x900 resolution...any bigger than that and I'll strain my eyes. >.>

thanks so much!

Is 64-bit really worth it...? I know it can use more ram than the 4gb that 32-bit can use, but I have some programs that I'm not sure can run on 64-bit...Is it backwards compatible with 32-bit programs?

If u dont use 64-bit then you will only have 1.208 GB of System Ram as there is 896x2 mb in graphics card memory.  All programs I have run into work with 64-bit and 32-bit(I have both).

Edit: I checked Microsoft and most programs are compatible except some hardware drivers and antivirus soft ware.  Full article here :

Correction: 32 bit can only use 3.2 Gb of memory. This includes RAM, CPU cache, and VRAM.

In 32 bit I only have '1.7' GB of ram because of this.

Vista, however, will SHOW 4 gb, but it will not use it all.

well actually 32bit can use 4GB ram but without the pae switch you are correct Zurginator and I too have this problem on one of my PCs which has 4GB of ram but performs like it has 1.5GB of ram

64bit is the way to go for sure and eset smart security will take care of your av and firewall needs all day

I'll make a config for you now but it is very important that when you are ready you come back and we make a new config for you now here is a beast it will handle what ever you throw at it at your resolution once at 1900 x 1200 then you will need to add another 275 otherwise sli anything at 1400 x 900 is a waste of money and you will not notice the difference in performance:

here you go Ticket# 281046 --- Price: $2283 (To see this build click here) Price after current promotion $2183
