...How do I get it out of the damn box!
I’m not kidding guys. First off, this thing is a beast. If you ordered one, get a dolly. Work loaned me one no problem which was an absolute blessing since UPS freight dropped it off down from my building since they can’t get the semi in front. I can’t imagine lugging this thing up my inclined road with my bare hands. But here is the real dilemma, got it in the apartment, opened the box and now I have no idea how to get it out. I’ll update my review as my mission progresses. Side note: y’all should think of changing the name, Aventum doesn’t really invoke the image of how big this is. Maybe Titan, colossus, or big Bertha would be a better monicker. My poor dog is hiding in the bathroom since I wheeled it in.

Update, out of the box now. Using a technique I’ll only describe as “the birthing stance”. Next was the foam cappers and the black shroud of Turing. So far so good, opened up the side panels and removed all the foam inserts. No damage from transit visible.

"Big Bertha" now that is a name I could get behind. Looking forward to more updates.

Alright, next challenge. Filling the reservoir for the liquid cooling. It looks like I need to screw the top off to add the coolant (as I’ve done with previous builds before). However either this is wrong or the top is screwed on so tightly that I can’t get it open. The close space at the top doesn’t really allow leverage at all. Anyone else have experience with this?

Ok, I’m at a serious junction here. Three months of waiting the only thing standing between and this dream machine is the damn reservoir lid. Am I missing something here? Is there suppose to be another way to fill this thing? On a side note, why did they send me one soft tube with a quick release valve is this is a hardline system? Are these two mysteries related? Will I ever get this thing figured out? Find out next time on First World Problems!

Hi, welcome to DS and the Aventum. ![]() You really remove the box from the pc more than remove the pc from the box. ![]() It really takes two people. Ask Linus. ![]() Look for a short allen wrench in the parts box. If you can't find it, its 6mm. The reservoir top has one or two caps. Can't really tell from your images. Don't know what the short tube and QD is for but I'd guess it's for draining. There should be some instruction or give DS a call. Enjoy. ![]() Edited by hoserator - 07 Dec 2020 at 4:21pm |

Alright, so challenge completed. I had to a wrap wrench to get the top loose enough to remove. With the top off I started filling the reservoir. Then I realized my mistake... you see I was working on this in the middle of my dinning room. I now had to move it to my desk in the office. What proceeded next was the worlds longest waddle lift to get it in the right spot.
But I got it there damn it. Threw my old storage devices in the drive cage and powered up. It was a glorious technicolor moment before I realized the pump had already drained the reservoir and was hungry for more. This thing takes almost 2 litters of coolant to filler her up. I’ve go some work to do now installing software and getting it cyberpunk ready. |

Thanks Indigo2020 for the helpful info as Im getting an Aventum X with liquid cooling CPU & GPU. So what I learned is place it where it shall live first, Second you might need a 6mm Allen wrench, Third roughly 2 liters of coolant will need to be inserted into the cooling loop.

Question: Does anyone have suggestions for an Aventum X computer tower stand with wheels?
The only thing I found was this: https://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/H-3320/Dollies/Solid-Top-Carpeted-Dolly-30-x-18-3-Casters But was looking for other suggestions. Thank You in advance |

Heck, just buy a furniture dolly at Home Depot and modify it. I would change a couple of the caster wheels to locking wheels.

The soft Tygon tubing with a quick connect? I'm assuming that's your tubing release to drain your LC? Hard line will not bend or flex. Maybe. (My credentials with tubing. I'm a ECMO Specialist/Perfusion.) And have LC on my rig which I've maintained since 2011.

Me sitting my ECMO in PICU. Now you know why I like LC. ;)
