Well, I have finally had a few days to push this puppy to the limit! And I all I can say is: WOW! I have been playing through some of my old shooters, both single player and on line, and this machine runs like a dream! I spent probably 4 hours straight in Call Of Duty 4 multi-player and my core temps never went over 51 c. My office / game room on the other hand warmed up like a pottery kiln! Good thing we had a cold snap in Florida the past few days! There was never a burp, lag or anything in any of the game play graphics or sound. It still scares me to hear the fluid rushing around in my machine! Every time I hear it, I monetarily panic thinking that my drink fell off my desk and on top of it and into the fans! For that very reason, all of my cups always stay on the floor now, never on my desk! Anyway, here is some of my FPS in the games I am playing. Every game was on max settings with SLI enabled (word is Crysis plays better with SLI disabled, but I have not tried it yet). The FPS seem crazy high to me as I never knew that they measured that high! Crysis single player: 17 to 26 Half-life 2 single player: 160 and up Counter Strike Source: 145 and up Call of Duty 4 Multi-player: hovers around 90 The only issues I have been having are getting used to Vista and its quirks. Did have a few minor freeze ups, while not gaming, which were my fault. Trying to surf the web while doing a defrag and then stinking Norton decided to do a system scan check. Did a reset and it quickly rebooted and was good. Also, I spent the better part of an hour on Tuesday trying to get my microphone to work. Headset was fine…. Mic would not work no matter what I did. Finally went to Creative Labs site (us men hate to read directions) and found the Vista fix to the Mic. Worked fine after a few mouse clicks. I would love to post some photos but no matter what I do, every format I try to upload says it is too big and is rejected by the server. Someone got a fix for that? So, this rig is a monster. And a well built and stable machine! Its too bad that I have to go back to work tomorrow.

I haven't really looked at my FPS on any of my games (bioshock, COD4, timeshift) except UT3.
I have everything on max settings, but turned on VSYNC so my FPS is capped at 60 FPS and never goes under that, i'll try turning it off to see what I get.
My core temps are higher than yours; my max was about 62 degrees when I had the home heating on high. I think I might install the two extra fans at the top of the extreme case. Edited by pgs8113 - 04 Jan 2008 at 3:54pm |

Bull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey, I have been playing on two that I found with good pings for me in Florida. When I get outta work tonight, if I have time, I will get the info and PM you with it.
As I say, if I have time. This AM as I was leaving for work, my garage door springs decided it was time to fail. I had them fixed, today at a nice high weekend only price, but now I have to move my muscle cars around and get them covered up and clean up the garage.
God, I love spending money on home repairs for things that should be built not to break!

I love you, Bull.

NY - 60-70
CHI - 60-90
LA - 90-110
Ontario - 60-80
Dallas - 40-70
UK- 130-150
Haven't found a Atlanta server yet or tried a Seattle, but there is a server based out of cuba that you'd probably get about 30-40.
I live in SW FL so if you live a farther north of Naples you should get alittle lower.
