I've spent the past three weeks putting my new system through the paces, and figured it was about time I wrote a review, and shared my experiences.  Below is part of a review i wrote for ResellerRatings.com (at Digital Storms request).

posted 7/15/08 10:48 AM

I can not recommend this company enough! While recently deployed I had a lot of time to research custom and boutique computer builders, and let me tell you; Digital Storm is by far the best value on the market. From price, to warranty to selection, they are unmatched. And don't even get me started on customer service. I was updated on every step of the process (ordering, building and shipping). If I called with a question or concern Digital Storm was VERY thorough and professional. Additionally, they always sent a follow-up e-mail to make sure that my concern was properly addressed. When I received my computer (a week before the estimate!) the quality and attention to detail in the build was immediately obvious.

The system came very well packaged, and fired up perfectly the first time.  I've stress tested it, run 3DMark and PCMark and am pleased with it's performance.  It takes every game and application I throw at it without a stutter.

As you can see, I couldn't be more pleased!

My specs are:

Q9450 @ 3.2GHz, 790i Ultra, 9800GX2, 4 GB DDR3 1600, WD Velociraptor, X-Fi XtremeGamer, Vista Home Premium 64-bit

Here ar e the pictures I promised.

The package arrives!
Well packed indeed.
First look...
Cleaned up and ready to go...
Took me a little time to figure out how to remove the door...
...and expose the components.
I'm very impressed with the wiring / cable managment.
Fired right up with zero issues.
Thanks DS!

I'd share some pictures, but apparently don't have 'sufficient permission'.  Perhaps later.

So you have Vista 64-bit, 4GB RAM, and the X-Fi and don't have any driver issues or popping noises? I've read conflicting reports on whether the X-Fi drivers have been fixed for Vista 64. My overall impression was 'pretty much kinda sorta'.

I read the same reports, and everyone seems to agree that the issue is hit and miss.  I chose to gamble (so to speak) and have had zero issues.  The sound is fine.

Nice pics. I do have a question though. I've noticed that in all the reviews with pics I've seen here on the DS Forums nobody ever shows a photo of the back of their boxes. Is there some sort of unwritten rule about not exposing the  back end of your box to scrutiny by others?

Ah, well if it's noise level the previous poster was aking about as well, I apologize.

To answer however, it is not too loud.  It does not distract me.
